Every car sold in Canada since 2008 watches its own tire pressures, and the sensor that does it lives inside the wheel. Fit a different set of wheels, replace a dead sensor, or change tires without relearning, and the light on the dash stays on — which also means the system has stopped warning you about a real slow leak.

How it works
TPMS work is walk-in and takes a few minutes per wheel. If you are booking a change-over onto a second set of wheels, mention the sensors when you book so the bay time allows for them.

Common questions
The light came on with the first cold snap.
That is usually real, not a fault. Air loses about 1 psi for every 5 °C drop, so a set that was fine in October is genuinely low in November. Come in, we will set them — no charge for an air check.
My winter wheels have no sensors at all.
Then the light will stay on all winter and there is nothing to program. Sensors can be added to that set — ask us for a price on the sensors themselves; the $20 is programming only.
Does the light mean one tire is flat?
It means at least one is 25% or more below its placard pressure. That is exactly the range where a slow leak lives, so it is worth finding the cause rather than just topping it up every few weeks.
