One of the oldest names in American tires, now Goodyear's budget tier. The Edge family is honest, warranty-backed rubber at the bottom of the price list — and it claims through the same Goodyear system.
Kelly-Springfield dates to 1894 and has been part of Goodyear since 1935, which makes Kelly one of the longest-running budget tire brands anywhere. That history matters commercially: Kelly is not a no-name import, and the tires are administered under Goodyear's Canadian warranty text, which explicitly names Goodyear, Cooper and Kelly together.
We quote Kelly when the job is a second set, an older car, a lease return, or simply a budget that has to work. The Edge HT at 95,000 km and the Edge A/S at 85,000 km are the useful ones for Ontario driving; expect competent rather than exceptional, and expect to pay noticeably less than the premium brands for a tire that still has a published kilometre figure behind it.

Kelly Warranty in Canada, in Detail
Kelly is a budget brand with a non-budget warranty structure, because Goodyear administers it. You get a 45-day satisfaction guarantee, the same defect warranty text as Goodyear and Cooper, and a published tread life table. What you do not get — same as the rest of the family — is any road-hazard coverage.

Kelly 45-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
Eligible tires — Edge A/T, Edge HT, Edge HT (Light Truck), Edge MT, Edge Sport, Edge Touring A/S and Edge Touring Plus — can be exchanged within 45 days for a different set of Kelly, Goodyear, Cooper, Dunlop or Mastercraft tires. Return to the store that sold them with the original receipt. Mounting and balancing included, valve stems extra, price difference settled either way. The replacement set is not re-covered.
The Goodyear Highway Auto & Light Truck warranty covers Kelly by name. A defective radial is replaced free — mounting and balancing included — inside the first 2/32" of usable tread or 12 months of purchase, whichever comes first. After that it is prorated on tread used, for up to six years from purchase.
Tread Life Limited Warranty
Up to six years or the published kilometres, whichever comes first, prorated on the distance not delivered. Even wear to 2/32", rotation on the prescribed pattern and the original invoice are all required.
Treadwear warranty by product line (km)
Two different things, often confused: a treadwear (mileage) warranty is not the defect warranty, and it is not a promise the tire will last that far. It means that if the tread wears out evenly before the listed distance (with rotation records in order), the manufacturer credits the unused percentage toward a replacement — you still pay the rest. Manufacturing defects are covered separately by the defect warranty above, which has its own free-replacement window and total term.

Kelly's kilometre table is published by Goodyear on its Canadian warranty site, next to the Goodyear and Dunlop tables.
Rotation on the prescribed pattern plus the original invoice are required — the same requirements as the premium brands in the family.
Not every Edge tire has a published figure. If mileage coverage is part of why you are choosing Kelly, check the specific model with us first.
What the warranty does not cover
Road hazards — impact damage, cuts, snags and punctures
Wear or damage from the vehicle's mechanical condition, misalignment or imbalance
Improper inflation and overloading
Racing use and intentional alterations
Improper repairs
Weather-cracking on tires purchased more than four years earlier
How to claim at Taylor Tire
First thing to know: the warranty belongs to the manufacturer, not the store. Tires bought from us can be claimed at any authorized dealer of that brand anywhere in the country — if you move away, or something goes wrong on a road trip, you do not have to drive back to Markham for us to handle it. (Two notes: the satisfaction trial exchange is the exception, which the manufacturers require you to do at the original place of purchase; and warehouse chains such as Costco and Canadian Tire generally only process claims on tires they sold themselves, so call ahead — that is their store policy, not the warranty.)
Bring the tires on the vehicle and the original invoice; for a mileage claim bring rotation records and odometer readings. Goodyear Consumer Assistance handles Kelly claims in Canada: 1-800-387-3288.
We measure the tread, document the condition and file the claim through Goodyear Canada.
You pay for the replacement tire on the day. This is the same for every brand: the manufacturer only settles after the tire reaches them and they have inspected it, so the new tire is a normal purchase up front — that is not us, it is how tire warranty adjustments work.
Once the manufacturer inspects and approves, we refund you — by e-transfer, or in cash if you would rather drop by. How much comes back follows the terms above: the full amount inside the free-replacement window, a prorated share after that.
Is a cheap Kelly tire actually worth warranty consideration?
Yes — that is exactly what separates Kelly from an unbranded import. The defect warranty text is identical to Goodyear-brand tires and most Edge lines carry a published kilometre figure. You just claim it at a lower purchase price.
Can I use the 45-day guarantee to move up to a Goodyear tire?
Yes. The Kelly guarantee explicitly allows exchanging for Kelly, Goodyear, Cooper, Dunlop or Mastercraft. You pay the price difference plus tax.
Does Kelly cover road hazards?
No. No brand in the Goodyear family publishes road-hazard coverage in Canada. If that is a priority, ask us about Hankook, Nexen, Nokian or Falken instead.
Terms above are transcribed from the manufacturer's official Canadian documents (verified 2026-08). Manufacturers can revise terms; their current official documents govern:
Kelly has been a Goodyear brand since 1935. Goodyear's Canadian replacement warranty covers "Goodyear, Cooper or Kelly" in one document, and the Kelly satisfaction guarantee lets you exchange into any brand in the family.
