A premium all-round choice with strong touring, all-weather, performance, SUV and Canadian-winter families. Michelin is often the first place to look when tread life, quiet road manners and broad fitment coverage matter together.
Michelin has been building tires since 1889 in Clermont-Ferrand, France, and today supplies original-equipment tires to many of the vehicles we see in the shop — from Toyota and Honda daily drivers to BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche performance fitments. Its reputation in Canada rests on two things: tread life that routinely outlasts the competition, and winter tires (the X-Ice family) engineered specifically for our kind of cold.
At Taylor Tire, Michelin is the brand we quote most when a customer asks for "the safe choice": the price is higher up front, but cost per kilometre usually works out well because the tires last. Popular sizes for the Defender, CrossClimate and X-Ice lines are stocked locally or arrive within days.
Michelin Canada bundles its coverage as the "Michelin Promise Plan" on replacement passenger and light-truck tires: a 60-day satisfaction guarantee, 3 years of roadside assistance, and the standard workmanship and treadwear warranties. One thing to know: Michelin does not cover road-hazard damage — the roadside benefit changes your flat, it does not replace the tire.
If you are not satisfied, bring the tires and the original receipt back to the place of purchase within 60 days and exchange them for a new set of equal or lesser value — up to 6 tires per customer. The tires must have been purchased and mounted, still on the original vehicle, and free of road-hazard or misuse damage. The exchange set itself is not re-guaranteed.
From the purchase date, 24/7/365 across Canada and the U.S. (1-866-794-5666): flat-tire changeout with your spare, battery jump-start, lock-out service and fluid delivery. No workable spare? Free towing up to 250 km to the nearest approved Michelin retailer. It covers the labour and the tow — not the repair or replacement cost of the tire itself.
A tire with a workmanship or materials defect is replaced free — including mounting and balancing — if no more than 2/32" (or 25%) of the tread is worn and it is within 12 months of purchase. Beyond that, replacement is prorated by tread used, for the life of the original tread or 6 years from purchase, whichever comes first.
Two different things, often confused: a treadwear (mileage) warranty is not the defect warranty, and it is not a promise the tire will last that far. It means that if the tread wears out evenly before the listed distance (with rotation records in order), the manufacturer credits the unused percentage toward a replacement — you still pay the rest. Manufacturing defects are covered separately by the defect warranty above, which has its own free-replacement window and total term.

First thing to know: the warranty belongs to the manufacturer, not the store. Tires bought from us can be claimed at any authorized dealer of that brand anywhere in the country — if you move away, or something goes wrong on a road trip, you do not have to drive back to Markham for us to handle it. (Two notes: the satisfaction trial exchange is the exception, which the manufacturers require you to do at the original place of purchase; and warehouse chains such as Costco and Canadian Tire generally only process claims on tires they sold themselves, so call ahead — that is their store policy, not the warranty.)

No. Road-hazard damage (impact, cuts, punctures) is explicitly excluded from Michelin's warranty. The Promise Plan's roadside assistance will change the flat or tow you, but the tire itself is not covered.
Yes — 70,000 km on the X-Ice Snow + and 60,000 km on the X-Ice Snow, which almost no other winter tire offers. The catch: winter-season use only (Sept 1 – Apr 30) with documented install/removal dates each year.
Missing rotation records. Michelin requires documented rotations every 10,000–12,000 km — if you rotate with us, we keep the record for you.
