Long-established Korean maker with a broad Canadian line-up and a road-hazard program on its main sellers. Strong touring numbers — up to 120,000 km — and a strict 8,000 km rotation requirement.
Kumho has been making tires since 1960 and sells through Kumho Tire Canada in Mississauga. It sits where a lot of buyers actually shop: below the premium brands, above the no-name imports, with a full range from the Solus touring line through Crugen for SUVs and Road Venture for trucks.
Two things stand out in the Canadian warranty. First, Kumho does publish a road-hazard replacement program covering most of its mainstream patterns — that is not universal at this price. Second, the rotation requirement is 8,000 km, tighter than the 12,000–13,000 km most competitors ask for, and failing to meet it is listed as a reason a claim will be refused. If you buy Kumho, rotate on schedule and keep the card.

Kumho Warranty in Canada, in Detail
Kumho's Canadian policy has three consumer pieces: a limited warranty for material and workmanship, a limited tread wear warranty with a published kilometre table, and a road hazard protection program on named patterns. There is no satisfaction-trial period, so unlike Hankook or Nexen you cannot change your mind after a week of driving.

Road Hazard Protection
Listed patterns — Ecsta Sport and Sport S, Ecsta A/S, Solus TA91 EV, TA51a, TA31 EV, HA32 and HA32 SUV, Crugen HP71, HP71 EV and HT51, Road Venture AT52 and RT — that are irreparably damaged by a normal road hazard within the first 2/32" of original tread depth are replaced free of charge with an equivalent Kumho tire. Note the limit is tread-depth based only: unlike some brands there is no separate 12-month clock, but once you are past the first 2/32" the protection is gone.
Limited warranty (material & workmanship)
Covers a tire that becomes unserviceable for a reason within the manufacturer's control, up to 72 months from the date of manufacture — or from the purchase date if you have proof of purchase — or until the tread is down to 2/32", whichever comes first. Free replacement applies during the first 2/32" of usable tread; after that Kumho gives a credit calculated as original usable tread remaining ÷ original usable tread × price of the new tire. Mounting, balancing and taxes are yours.
Limited tread wear warranty
If the tread reaches 2/32" within 72 months and before the warranted kilometres, Kumho makes a prorated allowance toward a comparable new tire, based on the percentage of warranted kilometres not received. You must be the original owner, present the Kumho warranty/rotation form recording the purchase date, purchaser, original mileage and vehicle, and you must have rotated every 8,000 km. Staggered fitments get half the standard distance because they cannot be rotated.
Treadwear warranty by product line (km)
Two different things, often confused: a treadwear (mileage) warranty is not the defect warranty, and it is not a promise the tire will last that far. It means that if the tread wears out evenly before the listed distance (with rotation records in order), the manufacturer credits the unused percentage toward a replacement — you still pay the rest. Manufacturing defects are covered separately by the defect warranty above, which has its own free-replacement window and total term.

Winter lines carry no treadwear warranty
Rotation every 8,000 km, evidenced by Kumho's Mileage Warranty / Tire Rotation Card. Failure to rotate at that interval is named in the exclusions.
Staggered or split fitments get half the standard distance, because those tires cannot be rotated as Kumho requires.
Original-equipment tires on new vehicles are excluded — those fall under a separate warranty in the vehicle's glove box.
Tires showing a 2/32" or greater tread difference across the same tire are treated as irregular wear and rejected.

Continued use while run flat or acutely underinflated

Racing or competition use, off-road driving, RV and commercial vehicle use
Tires marked "NA" or "Blem", or with the DOT number cut off
Any tire used on a vehicle registered or operated outside Canada
How to claim at Taylor Tire
First thing to know: the warranty belongs to the manufacturer, not the store. Tires bought from us can be claimed at any authorized dealer of that brand anywhere in the country — if you move away, or something goes wrong on a road trip, you do not have to drive back to Markham for us to handle it. (Two notes: the satisfaction trial exchange is the exception, which the manufacturers require you to do at the original place of purchase; and warehouse chains such as Costco and Canadian Tire generally only process claims on tires they sold themselves, so call ahead — that is their store policy, not the warranty.)
Bring the tire, the original receipt and your Kumho warranty/rotation card. Kumho asks for the purchase date, purchaser name, original mileage and vehicle identification — all of which live on that card, so keep it in the glove box.
We inspect and measure the tire, complete Kumho's claim form and submit it to Kumho Tire Canada in Mississauga ([email protected]).
You pay for the replacement tire on the day. This is the same for every brand: the manufacturer only settles after the tire reaches them and they have inspected it, so the new tire is a normal purchase up front — that is not us, it is how tire warranty adjustments work.
Once the manufacturer inspects and approves, we refund you — by e-transfer, or in cash if you would rather drop by. How much comes back follows the terms above: the full amount inside the free-replacement window, a prorated share after that.
Strict enough that Kumho lists "failure to rotate the tire at least every 8,000 km as evidenced by Kumho's Mileage Warranty / Tire Rotation Card" as a stated exclusion. Rotate with us and we record it for you.
Does Kumho have a trial period if I do not like the tires?
No. Kumho publishes no satisfaction-trial program in Canada. If a trial matters to you, Hankook (30 days), Nexen (60 days / 1,000 km) and Nokian (30 days) do offer one.
Which Kumho tires include road-hazard cover?
The mainstream sellers: Ecsta Sport/Sport S and A/S, Solus TA51a, TA91 EV, TA31 EV, HA32 and HA32 SUV, Crugen HP71, HP71 EV and HT51, and Road Venture AT52 and RT. Coverage runs only through the first 2/32" of tread.
