The most complete warranty package published by any brand we sell: road hazard, a 60-day trial, 36 months of roadside assistance and a mileage table up to 128,000 km. Nexen's Canadian head office is in Markham, a few minutes from our shop.
Nexen started as Heung-A Tire in Korea in 1942 and has spent the last twenty years pushing into original equipment — you will find it on Volkswagens, Fiats, Kias and a growing number of EVs. Nexen Tire Canada Corp. runs the country from an office on Allstate Parkway in Markham, which is a short drive from our counter.
What earns Nexen a serious look is the Total Coverage Warranty. Read the 2026 brochure and it is the only package on our shelf that bundles all four consumer protections at once: workmanship, a mileage warranty, road-hazard replacement, and 24/7 roadside assistance for 36 months — plus a 60-day trial. Coverage varies by pattern, though, and the winter range in particular gets roadside assistance only.

Nexen Warranty in Canada, in Detail
The Nexen Total Coverage Warranty (effective January 1, 2026) bundles five things: workmanship and materials, a mileage tread wear warranty, a road hazard replacement program, 36 months of roadside assistance and a 60-day satisfaction trial. Not every pattern gets every piece — the brochure has a per-pattern grid, and the Winguard winter range carries roadside assistance only.

Road Hazard Replacement Program
Most Nexen patterns are covered against non-repairable damage from punctures, snags, cuts, bruises and impact breaks — nails, glass, potholes, debris. Free replacement applies through the first 2/32" of original tread depth or one year from purchase, whichever comes first; you pay mounting, balancing, service charges and taxes. Repairable punctures, accident and vandalism damage, chain or stud damage, commercial use, racing and OE tires are all excluded.
36-month roadside assistance
Every pattern sold in Canada after January 1, 2026 — including the winter range that gets nothing else — is eligible for free 24/7/365 roadside assistance for 36 months from purchase. A technician changes your flat with your spare at no charge; if there is no usable spare, towing to the nearest Nexen dealer or a safe location is free. Activation is required before you can use it, so do that when you buy, not when you are stuck.
60-day satisfaction guarantee trial
Not completely satisfied? Return the tires with proof of purchase to the dealer who sold them within 60 days or 1,000 km, whichever comes first, for a new complete set of Nexen replacements. Full sets only — partial returns are not accepted — and tires with more than 1/32" of wear are excluded. The replacement set is not itself covered by the trial.
Workmanship & materials
All Nexen tires are replaced 100% free of charge for defects during the first 2/32" of original usable tread or within 12 months of purchase, whichever comes first. After that, and while still within 72 months from manufacture, you get a credit based on the percentage of original tread depth remaining. Mounting, balancing, service charges and taxes are always yours.
Treadwear warranty by product line (km)
Two different things, often confused: a treadwear (mileage) warranty is not the defect warranty, and it is not a promise the tire will last that far. It means that if the tread wears out evenly before the listed distance (with rotation records in order), the manufacturer credits the unused percentage toward a replacement — you still pay the rest. Manufacturing defects are covered separately by the defect warranty above, which has its own free-replacement window and total term.

Roadside assistance only on the winter range
Rotation at least every 8,000–10,000 km is required, with a rotation record — failure to rotate as recommended voids the tread wear warranty.
If front and rear sizes differ and the tires cannot be rotated, the rear tires get half the stated mileage warranty.
Winter tires must be used only between September 1 and April 30, with documented install and removal dates, to keep the tread wear warranty.
Coverage per pattern differs — check the grid. Some patterns have a mileage warranty but no trial; the winter range has neither.
What the warranty does not cover
Repairable punctures, and road hazard damage outside the covered window
Ride complaints after the first 2/32" of wear or the first year
Premature or irregular wear from vehicle mechanical deficiencies or missed rotations
Tires on a vehicle registered and normally operated outside Canada
Over/under inflation, overloading, and tires with a lower load index or speed rating than the OE tire
Racing, off-road use, tire chains, recreational vehicles and commercial service including ride-sharing
Ozone or weather cracking after 48 months from manufacture
Tires bought from unauthorized sellers or not imported by Nexen Tire Canada
How to claim at Taylor Tire
First thing to know: the warranty belongs to the manufacturer, not the store. Tires bought from us can be claimed at any authorized dealer of that brand anywhere in the country — if you move away, or something goes wrong on a road trip, you do not have to drive back to Markham for us to handle it. (Two notes: the satisfaction trial exchange is the exception, which the manufacturers require you to do at the original place of purchase; and warehouse chains such as Costco and Canadian Tire generally only process claims on tires they sold themselves, so call ahead — that is their store policy, not the warranty.)
Bring the tires and the original receipt showing the odometer reading at installation, plus a rotation record proving 8,000–10,000 km intervals. Road-hazard claims do not need the rotation record if wear is even within 2/32" across the tire.
We complete Nexen's claim adjustment form, keep a copy for you and submit through Nexen Tire Canada in Markham. Roadside assistance is Nexen's own toll-free line — remember it needs to be activated at purchase.
You pay for the replacement tire on the day. This is the same for every brand: the manufacturer only settles after the tire reaches them and they have inspected it, so the new tire is a normal purchase up front — that is not us, it is how tire warranty adjustments work.
Once the manufacturer inspects and approves, we refund you — by e-transfer, or in cash if you would rather drop by. How much comes back follows the terms above: the full amount inside the free-replacement window, a prorated share after that.
Yes, for 36 months from purchase, on every pattern sold in Canada after January 1, 2026 — flat change with your spare, or a free tow to the nearest Nexen dealer if there is no usable spare. It has to be activated before you need it.
Can I return just one or two tires under the 60-day trial?
No. Nexen accepts full sets only — "any return of less than a full set of tires will not be accepted" — and no tire may show more than 1/32" of wear.
Do Nexen winter tires get any warranty beyond defects?
Roadside assistance, yes. The Winguard range shows N/A for mileage warranty, road hazard and the trial in the 2026 grid — it gets the workmanship warranty and 36 months of roadside assistance.
Does buying Nexen online void the warranty?
It can. The brochure states that tires purchased from an unauthorized dealer, or not imported by Nexen Tire Canada, are not covered, and names Amazon, eBay and Craigslist sellers as unauthorized. Buying from an authorized dealer is what keeps the coverage.
Terms above are transcribed from the manufacturer's official Canadian documents (verified 2026-08). Manufacturers can revise terms; their current official documents govern:
