Uniroyal traces back to the United States Rubber Company, founded in 1892, and in North America it has been a Michelin-group brand since 1990 — which is the key fact most shoppers miss. A Uniroyal here is not the same company as "Uniroyal" tires sold in Europe (those belong to Continental); ours are built within the Michelin manufacturing system.
The Tiger Paw name has been on Uniroyal passenger tires for decades, and the lineup stays deliberately simple: touring, light-truck and winter, priced for the budget-conscious. It is a brand we quote when the request is "reliable, nothing fancy, good price".

Uniroyal Warranty in Canada, in Detail
Uniroyal shares the Michelin-group warranty template — 6-year workmanship-and-materials coverage with a 12-month free-replacement window and per-line treadwear warranties — plus a 45-day satisfaction guarantee that, unlike the pricier group brands, applies to every current line including the winter tires.
Satisfaction guarantee45 daysAll current lines incl. winter — up to 4 tires
Defect warranty1 yr free, 6 yrs totalFree replacement in year 1 (within first 2/32" wear), incl. mounting
Treadwear warrantyUp to 120,000 kmTiger Paw Touring A/S (H-rated)
Road hazard / roadsideNoneSame exclusions as the rest of the Michelin group
45-day satisfaction guarantee
If not 100% satisfied, bring the tires and the original receipt back to the place of purchase within 45 days and exchange them for a set of equal or lesser value — up to 4 tires per customer, on every current Uniroyal line including the Tiger Paw Ice & Snow winters.
Defect warranty (workmanship & materials)
A tire with a workmanship or materials defect is replaced free — including mounting and balancing — if no more than 2/32" (or 25%) of the tread is worn and it is within 12 months of purchase. After that, replacement is prorated by tread used, for the life of the tread or 6 years, whichever comes first.
Treadwear warranty by product line (km)
Two different things, often confused: a treadwear (mileage) warranty is not the defect warranty, and it is not a promise the tire will last that far. It means that if the tread wears out evenly before the listed distance (with rotation records in order), the manufacturer credits the unused percentage toward a replacement — you still pay the rest. Manufacturing defects are covered separately by the defect warranty above, which has its own free-replacement window and total term.

No treadwear warranty; the 45-day guarantee still applies
Rotations every 10,000–12,000 km with signed records are mandatory — missing records void the treadwear warranty.
Staggered fitments: each rear tire is warranted for half the listed distance.
No treadwear warranty for commercial use, factory-fitted (OE) tires, or anyone but the original purchaser on the original vehicle. Winter tires must be used September 1 – April 30 with documented install/removal dates.
What the warranty does not cover
Road hazards — cuts, snags, bruises, impact damage and punctures
Improper mounting, balancing or repair
Underinflation, overinflation, overloading, racing or misuse
Uneven wear from misalignment or vehicle mechanical problems
Sealants, balancing liquids or non-approved fillers
Accident, fire, chemical corrosion, alteration or vandalism
Flat spotting from improper storage
Minor cosmetic ozone / weather cracking
How to claim at Taylor Tire
First thing to know: the warranty belongs to the manufacturer, not the store. Tires bought from us can be claimed at any authorized dealer of that brand anywhere in the country — if you move away, or something goes wrong on a road trip, you do not have to drive back to Markham for us to handle it. (Two notes: the satisfaction trial exchange is the exception, which the manufacturers require you to do at the original place of purchase; and warehouse chains such as Costco and Canadian Tire generally only process claims on tires they sold themselves, so call ahead — that is their store policy, not the warranty.)
Bring the vehicle with the tires on it, plus your ID, vehicle registration and the original invoice. If we sold and rotated the tires, the required service records are in our system.
We open the claim with Uniroyal consumer care to get a case number, measure the tread, document the condition and submit the Michelin-group forms under that number as a Uniroyal retailer.
You pay for the replacement tire on the day. This is the same for every brand: the manufacturer only settles after the tire reaches them and they have inspected it, so the new tire is a normal purchase up front — that is not us, it is how tire warranty adjustments work.
Once the manufacturer inspects and approves, we refund you — by e-transfer, or in cash if you would rather drop by. How much comes back follows the terms above: the full amount inside the free-replacement window, a prorated share after that.
How does Uniroyal's guarantee differ from Michelin's and BFGoodrich's?
The window is 45 days (vs 60) and the limit is 4 tires (vs 6) — but it applies to every current line, winters included, whereas BFGoodrich excludes some lines.
Do the Tiger Paw Ice & Snow winters have a mileage warranty?
No, but they do get the 45-day satisfaction guarantee and the standard 6-year defect warranty.
Is a North American Uniroyal the same as a European one?
No — in North America Uniroyal is a Michelin brand and its warranty is backed by Michelin North America (Canada). The European Uniroyal brand belongs to Continental.
Terms above are transcribed from the manufacturer's official Canadian documents (verified 2026-08). Manufacturers can revise terms; their current official documents govern:
